Authorities have pointed out that there are 90% of diseases related with excess superoxide radical. The main application fields of SOD
1.Health protection product: SOD may prevent many kinds of diseases and delay aging. Therefore SOD has huge potential economic value as health protection product. There are several this kind of products being supplied overseas and at home.
2.Drug: Because of its great capabilities of eliminating superoxide radical, SOD presents functions of anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-aging, anti-radiation and anti-virus. SOD is very effective in therapy of emphysema, diabetes, high pressure oxygen toxicity and hepatopathy. At present, the clinic applications of SOD mainly focus on fields of below.

Our product of SOD is produced by an advanced bioengineering technology different from the method of bovine blood extracting. We have cloned human SOD cDNA into expression plasmid and reformed the gene through genetic engineering. Host cells (E.coli and Yeast) were transformed with above-mentioned plasmid and strain that overexpress bioactive rhSOD was selected. We have developed technology to produce and purify the recombinant SOD protein under the strict working condition. The property of rhSOD is very close to that of native human SOD. Therefore, the new technology entirely avoids hazards of serious immune response or cross infection of pathogenic microorganism from animals such as aftosa and mad cow disease.
