There are many ways to produce O₂ˉ in living creature, such as cellular respiration,electron transport of cellular organ, and so on. Additionally, O₂ˉ is an in-process product of some oxidation reactions. However, the O₂ˉ has cytotoxicity, which overoxidizes lipid, damages the cell menbrane, causes inflammation, aging problems and autoimmune diseases. In terms of SOD’s chemical structure and types of metal ions it carries, SOD can be divided 3 categories: Cu/Zn-SOD, Mn-SOD, and Fe-SOD. Fe-SOD exists mainly in prokaryote, while Cu/Zn-SOD exists in eucaryote including human being,and Mn-SOD in mitochondria and bacterias.

        Yuhua Life Science& Technology is domestic exclusive coperation that can industrialize the Cu/Zn-rhSOD products. We cloned the human Cu/Zn-SOD gene, modified it by molecular recombinant technology, reloaded it into Yeast and E.coli, which could express the SOD protein in a high level while maintaining the natural SOD activity, and then cultured these microorganisms in small-scale fermentation tank to abtain SOD protein for further isolation and purification. These technologies have been mature by now, and these yeast and E.coli can be used for large-scale production.         Ordinary SOD is extracted from hematid of animals like cattle and pigs or cells of plants. Both at home and abroad, there have been SOD preparation existed, such as the German producted Orgeotein, which was water-soluble Cu/Zn-SOD isolated from hematid or liver of animals, with a molucular weight of 32000, was used as the antidote for oxygen poisoning of  premature infant, or as non-steroidal antibiotic medicine for arthritis. However, as these products were non-human resourced SOD with low special activity and purity, they inevitably caused allergies while used as drugs or skin care products.
