        SOD is a protease widely exists in most of aerobiotic organisms. Its main function is to selectively remove excess strong oxidative substances and aging factors-superoxide radical, so as to regulate the oxidative metabolism and anti-aging functions of the body. In terms of SOD’s chemical structure and types of metal ions it carries, SOD can be divided 3 categories: Cu/Zn-SOD, Mn-SOD, and Fe-SOD.

        The clinical application of SOD, both at home and abroad, mainly focuses on anti-radiation, anti-tumor and anti-aging and autoimmune diseases. With continuous deepening of research, application scope is constantly expanding. But it is worth noticing that SOD is not the drug cures all kinds of diseases. As an officinal enzyme, it only helps to cure diseases caused by overoxidation. Therefore, it is important to find out the cause of disease to avoid blindness.

At the present day, SOD is used to treat diseases like ischemic re-perfusion syndrome, oxygen poisoning, radiation damage, skin diseases, arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, burns, senile cataract, heredufamilial muscular dystrophy,etc. Most SOD on domestic market is exacted from animal blood or plant. As SOD from these species is, in some certein aspects, different from that exists in human body, there are limitations in its efficacy and immunogenicity. In addition, the exaction process risks contamination from causative organisms and organic reagent residue.

        Our company’s SOD products are produced by means of genetic engineering technology. We cloned the human SOD gene, and reloaded it into yeast for fermaentation, so as to produce real human resource SOD. The production process has much less resource consumption than the triditional method to produce SOD. The protein purification process adopts the chromatographic resolution method, and does not involve organic reagent, so there is no problem of organic reagent residue. Our products have features like high activity, high purity, contamination free, environmental protection, etc.
